New fruit, vegetable and bread scheme
We have been seeking opportunities to help our community with basic food produce at a very, very discounted rate. We are aware that in our area there are multiple food banks operating and we wanted to try and do something to support our parents and carers. The Co-op in the Oval, Brookfield, has kindly agreed to provide school with surplus fruit and vegetables, including, at times, milk and bread products and Mrs Angela Doran, PSA has set up this initiative and will be from Monday the 27th of January opening up a quick access shop for parents and carers to buy discounted fruit, vegetables, milk, bread etc. from twenty pence per item. This could mean a saving of up to £1.00 on a loaf of bread! We will send out a separate letter in due course but please be aware that the shop hatch in the main central entrance where lost property is contained will be the access point for parents and carers to attend the shop on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning between 8:45 and 9:10 AM. The access gate to Parliament Road will be left open to parents to exit by 9.15 a.m. Mr Watson, Site Manager, will man the gate but please be reminded that this gate opening is not an extension of the morning attendance procedures. All children will be required to be in school by 8:50 AM. This is a very exciting venture and we are very very pleased to be partnering with the Co-op in Brookfield and thanks to Mrs Doran, PSA, for her efforts in this area to support our parents.
