Can I have a dog yet?
This half term we have explored lots of activities about colour in our topic called, ‘How many colours are in a rainbow?’ We have tried very hard to learn colour names and many of us can now name many colours. There have been many celebrations this half term, Diwali, Halloween, Children in Need, Bonfire night and Remembrance Day. We have made many brightly coloured crafts to help us in our celebrations of these occasions.
This term we have also experienced snow. For many of us this is our first experience of snow. It was lots of fun. We had a great time sharing our Christmas songs with our parents and carers, followed by lovely Christmas crafts and mince pies for the adults.
Next half term our topic is, ‘Can I have a dog yet?’ in this topic we will explore a variety of animals from domestic pets to wild lions. The children will be able to play with toy animals and pretend that they have a pet whilst at nursery. We will go exploring on our green space to look for animal tracks or any evidence of animals in the trees or on the ground. We will be learning to count through singing lots of number songs. Such as, 5 little ducks, 5 little speckled frogs and 1,2,3,4,5, once I caught a fish a live. We will also be enjoying many lovely stories together about animals. This half terms traditional tale will be ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’.
